Honing has the ability to remove stock from bores rapidly in a cost effective manner. The application can be used on every conceivable material from carbon steels to high temperature alloys (including carbide and glass) and on  materials that have been chromed, hard anodised and have had various surface treatments applied.

Extreme geometry requirements achieved in complex machined parts can be achieved with minimal fixturing; depending on the component size and configuration.  Fixturing could even be non-existent as the part could be hand held and still a sub 0.1 micron tolerance achieved.
